There’s a fresh face in the team this week as 15-year-old Daniel does some work experience with us. This is extra special for our Operations Supervisor Simon, aka Daniel’s very proud father.
So far Daniel’s been able to shadow his dad to see what working in the transport and civil industry is really like. Checking out project materials, allocating staff and vehicles, and today enjoying some time around heavy machinery.
His favourite aspect has been the machines (who doesn’t love the big toys!) and it sounds like we may have a future excavator operator in our midst.
We hope Daniel enjoys the rest of the week not just seeing what he might like to pursue in the future, but also understanding what his dad actually does at work each day.
Gone are the days riding passenger in a truck with dad interstate or hanging off a machine as a kid (the way many people found their love for this kind of work), but we are happy to be able to provide a taste of that joy in a safe and controlled way for Simon and Daniel.
